We need to be urged toward humility. We don’t value it like we should, though it exists at the heart of Jesus’ ministry and desire for his followers.
We need to be urged toward humility. We don’t value it like we should, though it exists at the heart of Jesus’ ministry and desire for his followers.
Because no one deserves God’s favor, sinners should welcome God’s generosity on God’s terms.
What’s the big deal with marriage? If my marriage isn’t going well, can’t I just divorce my spouse and move on? What does God think about that?
This text should show us that pursuing people must be important to us, since God pursued us. He forgives, so we should be eager to forgive. We should be more eager to fight for the faith if each other after grasping this text.
A close look shows us that Jesus wants his followers to be humble people. We pursue humility for our own good, the good of others, and ultimately for the glory of Jesus.
