How are we to be Jesus’ Disciples?

1. We must rightly perceive Jesus
2. We must receive Him rightly
3. We must rightly follow Jesus

In the middle of the Gospel of Mark, Peter makes his great confession that Jesus is the Christ. Jesus explains to His disciples what it means for the Son of Man to be the Christ, and His disciples are scandalized. It turns out that Jesus is not the savior they expected, but He is exactly the Savior they needed.

For Peter, life is survival of the fittest, and he who has the most power wins. But Jesus says the way to life is through death, and He displayed true power when He held nothing of Himself back at the cross.
