Passage: 2 Corinthians 2:12-17

What does victory look like in the kingdom? 

1. Victory has the appearance of defeat
2. Victory is effective
3. Victory is accomplished by God 

In 2 Corinthians, Paul expresses his great love for the Corinthian church.  Though things do not always turn out the way we expect or hope, God uses our defeats and failures to bring about his sovereign purposes. Christ is building his church but he does so in a way that is contrary to the world’s ways.  Even when it comes to our gospel witness.  We may never see the fruit of our witness, but we trust a God who is sovereign over all things.  We are called to remain faithful, even when disappointment comes or trials endure.  So may we be a church that honors Christ and proclaims his gospel, knowing that he will be victorious.
