How does Jesus minister to people?

Once Jesus went public with his ministry, we see quite a bit of action. His preaching and exercising authority over demons and disease caused quite a stir in the town of Capernaum. Here, in this text, we are privileged to see Jesus work out various aspects of his earthly ministry. As we read, we could ask, “What was important to Jesus in ministry? How did he do it? How did he think about people? How should we follow after him in the same way?” These are good questions, and the text helps us to see how Jesus’ heart for people and how he ministered to them should affect and inform his people today as we carry on his mission by his Spirit.
