Passage: Daniel 2:1-24

Daniel 2:1-24 “I Dreamed A Dream” (Kings & Kingdoms)

Is God Always Trustworthy?

  1. We seek the trustworthy God.
  2. We rest in the trustworthy God.
  3. We thank the trustworthy God.
  4. We live for the trustworthy God.

Wherever you are right now, this is for you to hear. God in heaven is trustworthy. If you are a follower of him, you may trust him in the details of your life. Trust him with the income, the kids, the career. Trust him with the people in your life for whom you pray. Trust him in the illness. Trust that the God who always keeps his promises will give you exactly what you need for as many days as he has granted you. Be at peace, Christian.

If you are not following Jesus today, this is also for you. You have spent your life looking for something to trust – your own intellect, your bank account, your heritage, your efforts at morality. It has brought you nothing. You have gone nowhere. God in heaven made you in his image. Your value is found in him. He made you for the purpose of representing him and following him, and he calls you now to trust in him. Trust in his goodness. Trust in Jesus, God in the flesh, who came to free us from the bondage to our sin. You can follow after the true king today. You can find rest in the only trustworthy one right now.

We have a trust problem, don’t we, friends? Our call today is one to greater trust. If you don’t know it by now, you can not trust yourself, or anyone else the way you can trust God in heaven. Learn from Daniel. And from him, look to Christ. Jesus has ushered us into the throne-room of God based on his good merit, not our own. We have an audience with the only good king. For all of time. For all reasons. Is God always trustworthy? He is.
