Passage: Philippians 2:12–2:13

12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

Intro:
We live out our salvation by God’s power and for His purposes.

Outro:
As we learn about living out our salvation and begin to better enact that in our lives, we go forward with full assurance that our efforts are enabled by the very Spirit of God who has chosen to work through His people despite our faults. If you’re hearing me say today that true Christians will obey perfectly all the time, you’ve heard me wrong. Nothing will be done perfectly until we are with God fully. What are your desires? Behaviors? As we live out of God’s power for His purpose, there is rest in the reality that fruit and conversions and church growth are ultimately God’s business. Are you frustrated? Go out and work knowing who has enabled you to strive. Who has made you able to obey. Who is calling in His church. Who will not let His mission fail.
