This king serves as an example for us to be watchful and to guard our hearts so that we do not become hardened by sin’s deceitful nature. He also serves as a reminder of God’s mercy towards us and the great hope we have in Christ.
Can a king be humbled? Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, certainly was! Are we so different? Today, God’s call to us is one of seeing him as glorious, seeing ourselves as small, and giving him the entirety of our little kingdoms, bringing them under his rule and dominion.
In Daniel 2, the King of Babylon has a dream that troubles him to the point of despair and even murder! Daniel, the Hebrew exile, goes to God, who gives Daniel the dream and its interpretation. When Daniel presents this revelation to the king, several things are made clear.
